Explore Mount Holly. Find wild species. Help document the biodiversity of our town.
From October 1–12, photograph wild plants, animals, fungi, and other living things anywhere in Mount Holly and submit your observations through iNaturalist.
Everything counts — wildflowers, trees, mushrooms, birds, insects, amphibians, reptiles, fish, mammals, and more. Prizes will be awarded for the most species submitted. Every observation also contributes to the ongoing Mount Holly Biodiversity Project, sponsored by the Mount Holly Conservation Trust and Mount Holly Conservation Commission.

During Cider Days, stop by the Mount Holly Conservation Trust booth on the Belmont Green for a free, hands-on iNaturalist help session:

Help build Mount Holly’s biodiversity inventory
The Mount Holly Biodiversity Project is an ongoing community effort to identify the wild plants, animals, and fungi found throughout town.
Since the project began in 2021, more than 300 citizen scientists have identified about 1,500 species in Mount Holly. Observations have helped document invasive species as well as threatened and endangered species, and many contribute to the Vermont Atlas of Life and the Global Biodiversity Information Facility.
